Why College is the Best Time to Attend Concerts

By Amanda Olavarria on July 6, 2017

There’s nothing quite like the live music and energy of a concert. The crowd goes wild as soon as the performer takes the stage and in no time at all people are joined together by the lyrics and rhythm that takes over the vicinity. Concerts are not just a fun night of singing and dancing, but rather an activity we typically plan in advance and eagerly await. Concerts give us something fun to look forward to, which can be necessary for people, especially those in college.

College is the best time to attend concerts because college students often need a break from the plethora of stress and other life pressures faced on the daily. It is vital that college students fill their calendar with other things besides homework and studying. So why not fill their calendar with an activity as exciting as attending a concert?

Attending a concert during your college years is definitely the best time to attend and here’s why:

Stress relief

I think we all know the people in college who never really left their room or did anything else besides study. However, we all know it is hardly healthy to be a shut-in no matter how heavy your course load. In college, we need a good outing every once in a while to reduce stress.

So why shouldn’t this outing be a concert? You can easily gather up some friends and find a concert you think you would all enjoy. Concerts can provide you with a break from the books, as well as a chance to let off a little steam. What’s better than dancing and singing all night long with your college pals?

New experiences

Typically going off to college is a huge turning point in our lives because we are opening ourselves up to new experiences. Without the familiarities of home, we are able to branch out and fearlessly explore new things. We are able to learn more about our likes and dislikes and gain more insight into the world around us.

College truly is the time for experiences, so why not enjoy the exciting experience of attending a concert? While you are trying new things, why don’t you also try listening to different artists or music you typically would not listen to? If your friend tells you to see someone in concert you never heard of, you should take the opportunity to attend the concert and learn about the artist. You never know, after the concert you may become a huge fan and discover a love for a new music genre.

Free time

College is the time right before impending adulthood, where odds are you will be working a 9 to 5 every weekday. This is the time to take full advantage of all the free time you have. College can be time-consuming and pretty busy, but you still have some free time you can enjoy.

Unfortunately, later in life, it may not always be that way. So, use this time now to do as many fun activities as you can. Concerts, in particular, are a great way to spend free time and an exciting activity to take part in. Concerts ensure not only hours of fun but also great memories to look back on years later.

Concerts on campus

Typically, colleges get a particular artist to perform during the school year. Having a concert on campus cannot be any more ideal since you do not have to worry about things like transportation or rocket high ticket prices. Usually, tickets for the concert are reasonable and far cheaper than you would pay if you went to a concert outside of the school. Since it is right on campus this also means odds are people you know will be attending, so not only will you enjoy great music, but good company too. A concert is sure to result in a fun and lively night on campus.

Just like college, by attending a concert you are looking to make the most of your experience and create memories along the way. So enjoy your time in college and attend as many concerts as you can because they are sure to be an exciting and memorable time.
